For
Notting Hill Carnival 2001, the children created digital
paintings inspired by the seasons. Spring, summer, autumn and winter
were each interpreted by the young artists.
Our general theme was: "British weather you
like it or not". This began what has become an ongoing Fox Carnival
tradition of theme-related puns and fitted with a long and sophisticated
Carnival tradition of using celebration to convey serious messages.
As we had done the year before, Fox recruited sponsors to print these paintings onto fabric banners.
Measuring 120 x 40cm, the pieces
were
then
supported on frames that were easily anchored into backpacks worn by the youngsters. |
